Des Johnson is the Global Marketing Director for Digital at Castrol, BP’s lubricants division. He leads the Castrol Digital Accelerator with a brief to drive excellence in digital, to transform customer experiences through digital, and create new digital business models and revenue streams beyond the core business. He is also a Board Director at the Castrol backed software start-up, Autino Ltd.
Previous roles within Castrol include Regional Marketing Director for the Americas leading the Marketing function across North, Central & South America, and Global Brand Director, overseeing Castrol's masterbrand activities and global sponsorships. Des joined BP in 2005 as Global Brand Communications Manager for BP Fuels having moved from the beer industry where he was Brand Director for Carling Lager. He's married to Anne and has two children - Jack and Matthew, and is based in Pangbourne, UK.
