Mark is a multi-skilled marketing leader with over 18 years of experience within the UK financial services market. He’s a Business Studies graduate from Loughborough University with a real passion for consumer insight, innovation-led marketing and brand-led customer engagement. Mark has a track record of delivering marketing transformation within data-rich and digitally-led businesses. However, he admits to getting most energy though from building, developing and leading high-performing marketing functions – and in December 2017 Mark was named as ‘UK Marketing Leader of the Year’ by the Financial Services Forum.
In his role of Marketing Director, Barclays UK - Mark is responsible for leading a team of 100+ talented marketing professionals. He leads: Marketing Strategy, Planning & Optimisation for Barclays UK B2C & B2B segments; Barclays Content Marketing across all touch-points; and his recently built Creative Studio, which represents Barclays firstever in house capability. Mark chairs the Barclays UK Marketing Leadership Group.
Mark's previous leadership roles, all within marketing and communications, have included: PR, Insight, Product Marketing, CRM, Advertising & Brand Management. Mark hails from the Lake District but has recently set up home in Hertfordshire, having lived in London for the previous 15 years. As well as spending time with his wife and his 2 young sons, Mark's other key passion-points are all sport related - be it playing, coaching or simply spectating!
