Richard has spent a career brokering relationships between marketing professionals and creative agencies paving the way for effective brand, content, live and digital experiences. He founded The McHardy Collective in 2012 as a more effective way to unite his expanding network.

In 2015 McHardy Productions Limited was born to sit alongside The McHardy Collective and to act as a vehicle for IP and event ventures. Under that label The Lovely Film Awards was created in 2016 and a year later The BD100 was co-founded with Upfront Business Development and successfully launched in association with The Drum in 2018. 

The BD100 is the annual published list of the UK’s 100 most influential creative agency business developers. It recognises the talent – in-house and consultant, managers and foot soldiers – leading the charge in marketing agency new business and business development and aims to shine a light on the skills, the pitches, the wisdom and the techniques of the best in the business – of business development.

Richard has has studied consumer marketing at London Business School and marketing strategy at Universidad Pontificia Comillas in Madrid and has a combined degree in Commerce and Spanish from Birmingham University.
