Since joining the business in 2017, Toby has led McCann Worldgroup’s strategic growth function, working in partnership with Suzanne Powers and Nannette Dufour to advise clients at the intersection of business and brand strategy.
Toby’s career focus is the development of new models and new approaches to clients’ marketing and communications challenges. He has been closely involved in some of our most significant organic growth and new business activities with clients including eBay, L’Oréal, The Coca-Cola Company, RB, Nestlé and Just Eat Takeaway. He established MW’s global Growth Leadership Community, represents the Europe & UK region on the global BLC, and helped to launch MW Presents, our global client content platform.
Before joining Worldgroup, Toby spent 10 years at WPP’s brand consulting unit, Brand Union. Working across the group to develop and deliver WPP’s ‘horizontality’ strategy, Toby helped construct and launch integrated teams for clients including Vodafone, Dell, DuPont, Bank of America, Shell, GSK and IAG. He has particular expertise in complex multi-stakeholder environments, with corporate M&A and divestments, and in highly regulated industries.
He ultimately became WPP’s youngest network CEO and led Brand Union to its first major successes at Cannes and the Effies.
