Russell was responsible for strategy, execution and commercial for all of Paris Saint-Germain’s content, social and blockchain channels and products connecting the club’s global fanbase through consumer digital technologies and led the digital transformation of the club. Prior to that he performed a similar role for FC Barcelona across mobile, web, apps, games, e-commerce, marketing tech, fan data, customer experience, VR/AR, eSports, messaging and which included the largest social media audience of any sports club in the world.

Prior to that he was Product Development Director at Perform Group (including - the largest global football site) and before that was at Manchester City Football Club where he was responsible for all digital channels including City TV.

Prior to his extensive experience in sports and football he was a digital media, film and TV exec delivering high-profile projects involving A-list talent, celebrities, world-famous brands, publishers, broadcasters and digital businesses.

Russell has an academic background in science and technology (Physics at Oxford and AI at Edinburgh Universities) and is a multi-award winning creative (including BAFTA and Peabody Awards). He has C-level, board and director level experience in rapid growth start-ups, FTSE 250, venture capital and private equity backed companies.
